Service Description
Yin Yoga at Lemon Tree Studio –Wednesdays 7.15pm - 8:20pm I’m so excited to bring Yin Yoga to Lemon Tree Studio in Killester, a practice of stillness, slowness, and deep release. If you’re new to Yin, it’s a gentle yet profound practice that allows you to turn inward, tuning into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. This is a functional Yin practice, inspired by the teachings of Paul Grilley, focusing on how the poses feel in your body rather than how they look. What to Expect: There are just a few poses in each session—four or five at most—with plenty of space for rebound, a moment of stillness where you simply observe and absorb the effects of each shape. Physical Benefits • A perfect balance for intense training – Whether you’re into the gym, running, cycling, GAA, or any high-impact activity, Yin Yoga is a powerful counterbalance to repetitive movement and muscular engagement. It aids recovery, enhances flexibility, and supports injury prevention by gently stressing the yin tissues (fascia, tendons, ligaments, and joints), which respond best to slow, steady loads. • Stimulates blood flow to areas of the body that are often underused, promoting circulation and tissue hydration. • Releases fascia—the body’s connective web—helping to reduce tension, improve range of motion, and support joint mobility. • Stimulates the joints and supports bone health, helping to maintain long-term mobility. • Encourages balance between yin and yang—supporting the softer, slower, more introspective aspects of movement to complement more intense yang-based activities. Mental & Emotional Benefits • Yin Yoga gives us the chance to be still and observe what we are missing when the noise of our lives gets too loud. In the stillness, we learn to accept ourselves just as we are, in that moment, on that day. • Calms the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety by shifting us out of fight-or-flight mode into a state of relaxation and restoration A Beautiful Prelude to Your Week This one hour of Yin is an invitation to slow down, to feel, to notice—a moment to reset your body and mind at the start of your week. Over time, you’ll develop a deeper connection with yourself, both on and off the mat.
