Service Description

Yin Yoga for the Wood Element Followed by Yoga Nidra “Melt like snow, wash yourself from yourself, and let love grow in your soul. Silent as a lily”. – Rumi – Winter is a time of internal focus, when we are little seeds buried underground awaiting to sprout. When Spring arrives, we grow as our seeds of dreams become a reality. For Spring (the wood element), we target the liver (yin) and gall bladder (yang) meridian pair. During spring time we work with the wood element. This elements relates to change and growth. The energy of wood promotes regeneration which is why spring time is perfect for practicing yin yoga with this element. 🌸 Spring is the season for creation and new beginnings , nature shows us how a new cycle begins after the long break of hibernation in winter time. We see just this in nature, so it makes sense that Spring is the season of the wood element. So just like a tree, it represents growth and development on a personal, mental and spiritual level. The wood elements supports the liver and gallbladder meridians. Meridian are energy pathways in the body and in this Yin Workshop we’ll target Liver and Gallbladder Meridians . The liver meridian runs upward from the big toe to the groin and continues through the diaphragm all the way to the crown of the head. The gallbladder runs down from the outer eye zigzags through the ribs and the outside of the leg and ends at the second toe. This will be a practice which encourages a softening or surrendering of activity and an observation of present moment awareness. In a world that’s ever shifting, may you use this practice to find stillness.
